Product Description

The E1 Drop-Insert Multiplexer provides audio, voice telephony and digital data service which include:
  • Interconnecting computer terminal
  • Interconnecting Local Area Networks (LAN)
  • Providing POTS service from a central office switch
The E1 Multiplexer operates at a primary rate of 2.048Mbps. The E1 Multiplexer has an inbuilt network management system that enables external alarms, indications and controls to be interfaced.

The equipment supports low speed asynchronous V.24 and high speed synchronous V.35, G.703 data interfaces. In addition the equipment also supports ISDN, FXO, FXS, 2/4 wire E&M and Ethernet.

The E1 Multiplexer offers flexibility on the choice of transmission medium over which it may be either twisted pair, optical fibre, cable or wireless

Voice Applications

The equipment supports a full range of voice interfaces with user configurable speech compression algorithms including PCM, ADPCM and others.

Data Applications

The equipment can accomodate at least 30 digital data channels at a sub 64Kbps level of low and high speed asynchronous data interfaces.

The Cirrus also supports dial-up POTS lines at 64Kbps, which provides transmission for dial-up analogue modems.
