FC2035 V.35 to Fibre Interface
The FC2035 provides a quick and easy way of allowing V.35 equipment to interface and communicate over fibre optic circuits. The FC2035 can be used as a straight forward fibre optic line driver . The unit can be set to operate either at speeds from 64kb/s to 2048kb/s in steps of 64kb/s or 9k6 to 76k8 in steps of 2k4. The FC2035 can also be used to onward link a V.35 network over a fibre optic network through the use of the external clock facility. The unit will accept a clock from the network and synchronise to it . Only one clock source can be accepted by the unit. If a unit is incorrectly setup so that more than one clock source is detected, i.e.both units are set-up as masters, the master / slave light will flash indicating a clocking problem exist. The front panel provides the user with the facility to apply two different loops to the unit. A single switch selects either a fibre optic loop or a bi-lateral interface loop. Alternatively a remote loopback can be applied and a front panel LED will confirm that the loop has been actioned. On the remote unit , the remote loop LED will flash indicating that a remote loop has been applied to the unit. Both local and remote loops can also be applied via the appropriate loopback signals on the V.35 interface. The LEDs will also confirm that the remote unit is also receiving an optical signal thus ensuring system integrity. If the fibre LED flashes ,this will indicate that the unit is receiving a signal but that the remote unit is not. Internal dip switches allow the user to set up clocking options and interface speeds Testing G.703 circuits
