Ethernet Connection Over Wireless Links
The Pathlink 10 is a bridge/router product specifically aimed at providing Ethernet connections across 'n' x 2Mb/s G703 E1 microwave links.
The Pathlink 10 presents two 2Mb/s WAN ports to the microwave link, as standard G703 (twin coax) interfaces ie. no converters required.
Each 2Mb circuit has a full speed hardware based data compressor. Compression ration is clearl a function of datat type and this product provides an average ratio of 2.5 on normal network data, but can be as high as 6.5 for TIFF format or similar data.
In bridge mode the incoming network data is load-shared automatically between two 2Mb/s circuits, and in router mode load sharing can be accomplished by by logical separation of network numbering if required. The effective data circuit preented to the network therefore exceeds 10Mb/s bandwidth in each direction simultaneously.
The Pathlink 10 appears as a full aggregate 10Mb/s bandwith link between buildings when real network traffic is considered ie; multiple virtual circuits between workstations and and file servers. Also available ENCRYPTION for absolute protection of data flowing over circuits outside your control.
